John Anthony's Story
Life
First let me start by saying, that I am not Joey Aiello (Bowie '76), that is my older brother. Just wanted that out there since I seem to get alot of hits from people from the classes of '75 and '76. Joey is doing fine, a grandfather now and living in Crofton.
Now, lets talk about me ...
After graduation I moved to New Jersey and then New York City where I continued working in banking as I had been doing while in high school (Bank of Maryland at Hilltop Plaza). In 1989 I "retired" from banking and moved to Los Angeles, where I produced theatre and then became a Casting Director. I won emmys in 1994 and 1995 for casting NYPD BLUE for the Steven Bochco Co. and in 1996 I started my own casting company. I have cast such other TV series as MURDER ONE, SLIDERS, NASH BRIDGES, MARTIAL LAW, THE PRETENDER and CSI:MIAMI. I also cast for feature films, my most notable film being THE NUTTY PROFESSOR. I retired in 2003 due to an illness which resulted in eighteen surgeries in four years. I am now happy to say that, "everyday above ground is a good day!"
I have a wonderful husband (Bryan), we're two of the 18,000 who remain married in California, inspite of...Expand for more
Prop 8. Bryan nursed me through my surgeries and he cooks so well that I am actually fat now ... can you believe that skinny John Aiello is fat now?
To stay busy, I works on my genealogy and I am very active with my parish church (still a Catholic). Some of my charity work includes fund raising for the Sisters, Servants of Mary, who give free 24 hour hospice care to the terminally ill.
We love to travel, in 2006 and 2007 I took my father (Mom passed away in 2003) to Italy (his first time) and it was like "My Big Fat Italian Family Reunion" when we went to his father's village.
The 30th Class Reunion in 2008, was great! I really enjoyed seeing so many people that went back to Mullikin Kindergarden, Meadowbrook and Chapel Forge Elementary Schools and Samuel Ogle Jr High. But there were so many missing. Hopefully more will make it to the 50th Birthday Cruise in 2010 or the 35th Reunion in 2013.

I invite anyone from Bowie to look me up when they are in Los Angeles. Ro Guccia (Spanish and Italian Teacher) came for a visit and we had a great time.
